We've found the tundra to be a stable, comfortable truck for towing a 20-foot enclosed car trailer over long distances. Towing capacities top 10,000 pounds on some models, and maximum payload ratings exceed 2,000 pounds. for 2014, there is a new tundra in terms of appearance. The dashboard, electronics and cabin trimming are new and also look better than before. A rearview camera is standard on every 2014 tundra. The engine, suspension and everything underneath are essentially the same with only small calibration changes most owners won't notice. the 2014 toyota tundra lineup is simpler than before. The two-door regular cab only comes in entry-level trim levels and only with a long bed. The double cab with conventional front-hinged, secondary rear side doors seats five or six and comes with 6. 5- or 8-foot beds. Named for the ranch on which the tundra factory sits, the 1794 has requisite big badges, cowboy-color leather and ultrasuede interior, woodgrain trim, and things like ventilated power seats and big jbl sound system to improve the ride after a long day's work. It's a good truck engine with epa fuel-economy ratings of 14/18 mpg city/highway, or 13/17 mpg with 4wd, and standard on most tundra permutations. Most newer competitors offer more power, more mileage or both, but the real world difference tends to be 1-2 mpg. With the second-row seats adjusted all the way forward, walk-in access to the third row becomes possible. Toyota has made only minor changes since then, mostly upgrades to standard equipment and options. the 2013 toyota sienna is available in five grades, with seating configurations for seven or eight. There are models aimed at practical transportation, models driven by luxury tastes. The track for the sliding rear doors is concealed, so the rear doors look like they belong on a sedan or crossover suv. The rear windows are shaped in a tapered trapezoid and inclined inward like a sedan, again contradicting the standard boxy minivan look. the rear has been designed with a low, wide bumper and a roof spoiler that hides the rear wiper, for a stronger, cleaner appearance. Led tail and stop lamps are used, which illuminate more quickly and consume less power. overall, the exterior looks clean and sleek, and it is. Aerodynamic work, including underbody covers to help manage airflow, keeps the coefficient of drag relatively low, at 0. 31 cd. there are quite a few exterior differences from model to model. Wheels may be 17, 18, or 19 inches depending on the model and options. Sienna xle, se, and limited models have front fog lamps in the lower valence, and limited has hid headlamps as an option. Side skirting visually lowers the vehicle and smoked headlights and taillights make a distinctive statement. Aerodynamic sculpting hugs the standard 19-inch alloy wheels. The se sits lower, on a sport-tuned suspension. interiorthe sienna interior looks modern, with flowing lines and round controls to achieve a unified, integrated design. Prominently visible at the base of the center stack is a shape, something like a tadpole, that tapers laterally toward the passenger, to create the feeling that there is more room to share. Instead, the design suggests shared space and control areas, in a freshly contemporary atmosphere. design aside, the center stack contains the usual controls, with the message center at the top, the audio system just below, the climate control system below that, and storage and convenience features, such as cupholders and 12-volt plugs, at the lowest level. The shifter is located on the dash, closest to the driver, freeing center console space for storage. there are three instrument designs. It also loses some acceleration performance, again because of the weight. The v goes from 0 to 60 mph in 10. 4 seconds, the sedan in 9. 8 seconds. Those are not impressive numbers. so the new prius v is slower and more thirsty than the sedan, and is expected to cost about $4000 more. Prius v is 6 inches longer than the prius sedan, 3. 3 inches higher, and 1. 1 inches wider, on the same track. the prius v is a handsome vehicle, resembling a swoopy small minivan, not unlike the mazda5, or maybe like a big honda fit without the sharp edges. The nose sweeps sharply up to the a pillars and roof, about as wind-slicing as they come. The coefficient of drag is 0. 29, very sleek for a an suv-like vehicle. Toyota engineers paid careful aerodynamic attention to the bumpers, corners and roofline, as well as rocker panels, mirrors, wheels and wheelcovers, and it shows. there are a number of battery cooling improvements to the synergy drive system for 2012 in the v. The rear seats slide back for legroom, or forward to increase cargo space; they also recline, and there's an optional panoramic roof for sky-watching. The front seat folds flat, like the honda fit or jeep patriot. The standard prius v seats are fabric, and not very sporty or rugged. floor rigidity has been added to the v, which helps reduce interior noise, but it's still surprisingly buzzy in the cabin, mostly engine noise but also road noise. On the console, there's one simple hvac dial, plus climate controls on the steering wheel. There are two gloveboxes, one of which rattled. It needs it a lot. the v uses the same cvt transaxle as the sedan. It's functional but boring. The prius v is easier to drive around town than the sedan, with this nimbleness and especially its good visibility. Unfortunately the ride doesn't match the handling. We found the same flaws in the prius sedan: road noise and rough ride. It seems to be a prius thing. Noise, vibration and harshness not so good. lineupthe 2012 toyota prius v comes in three models: two 26,400), three 27,165), and five 29,990). all prius v models use a 98-horsepower 1. 8-liter 4-cylinder atkinson cycle gas engine with an 80-hp electric motor utilizing a nickel-metal hydride battery pack, with the hybrid power mated to a cvt, or continuously variable transaxle. We recommend the optional safety connect system. walkaroundthe prius v is a handsome vehicle, resembling a swoopy small minivan, not unlike the mazda5, or maybe like a big honda fit without the sharp edges. It's less distinctive than the prius sedan, but then so is almost everything. It's 6 inches longer than the sedan, 3. 3 inches higher, and 1. 1 inches wider, on the same track. the headlamps are sharp narrow triangles, flying away from the nose over thin vertical parking lamps, accenting an attractive front end. The nose sweeps sharply up to the a pillars and roof, about as wind-slicing as they come. At the rear, there's a standard spoiler that dips a bit at the exit of the roofline, and the wheels look great. the coefficient of drag is 0. 29, compared to the sedan's 0. 25, but 0. 29 is terrific for any suv-like vehicle. Even that can be expanded, to 40. 2 cubic feet, by sliding the 60/40 rear seats forward another seven inches. Fold them flat and there's a relatively massive 67. 3 cubic feet; plus, there are big cargo slots under the floor. That's 10 cubic feet more than a honda fit, the cargo champ among compact hatchbacks, but then the v is 20 inches longer than a fit. Passenger volume is 3. 5 cubic feet greater than the sedan, with shoulder and hip room both increased nicely. Rear door openings are wide and door panels concave, for more passenger room. But visibility is good out all the windows, front and back. this whole optional entune connectivity thing is uncharted territory that the v is leading the way into.
