For (up to) the first 40 miles, the vehicle drives gas- and tailpipe-emissions-free using electricity stored in its lithium-ion battery. When the volt's battery runs low, a gas-powered, engine/generator seamlessly operates to extend the driving range another 300 miles on a full tank. The volt is powered by an 115kw electric motor and 16kwh lithium-ion battery pack, enabling it to travel approximately 40 miles on a charge. The 1. 4-liter gasoline range extender generates electricity and provides an additional 300 miles of driving. Standard features include automatic climate control, alloy wheels, passive entry, satellite radio and bluetooth connectivity. Onstar's mobile application allows drivers to communicate with their volt from their smartphones - it uses a real-time data connection to perform tasks such as setting the charge time, displaying charge status, unlocking the doors and remotely starting the vehicle to pre-condition the interior temperature. Safety features include eight airbags, traction control and stability control. The optional premium trim package includes leather seat trim, leather wrapped steering wheel and heated front seats. Safety packages include forward collision alert, lane departure warning, front and rear park assist and a rear camera. An audio system with navigation, 30-gigabyte hard drive, chevrolet mylink with bluetooth streaming audio, navtraffic real-time traffic display and bose speaker system is optional. Inspired by its trucks and cars of the '40s, chevrolet revealed the retro hhr in 2006, offering suv styling with sedan-like economy. Since then, the nostalgic design has remained not only pleasing but practical, as the boxy 4-door shape lends itself to increased interior space. The front-wheel drive hhr is available in two trim levels: ls and lt. The hhr ls is equipped with 16-inch wheels, cruise control, air conditioning, satellite radio and mp3 capability; lt trims add body-colored mirrors and a power driver's seat. A 2lt option package outfits the lt with additional features that include a sport-tuned suspension, 17-inch alloy wheels, fog lights and a leather-wrapped steering wheel/shift knob; leather upholstery and heated front seats are also available for the lt, while a power sunroof is optional on both trims. Standard safety features include stability and traction control systems, 4-wheel anti-lock brakes, front airbags, overhead curtain airbags for front and rear passengers and a tire pressure monitoring system. A rearview camera parking aid system is available. The chevrolet hhr carries over with minimal changes for 2011. The my link package now includes one year of satellite radio service, and the ss trim level has been removed from the model lineup.
